How It Works

  • You may pay via your bank account. Payments will be deducted from your bank account.
  • Pay Now payments made before 5 p.m. EST M-F (except holidays) will post to your account the same day. Payments made after 5 p.m. EST or on weekends or holidays will post the next business day.
  • Once you sign up for eBill, you'll receive an email notification when your bill is ready. You can print a paper copy from your online account.
  • You may still participate in Budget Billing and AutoPay while enrolled in eBill.
  • Turn-off or delinquent account notices will be sent by U.S. mail.

How to Enroll

You can enroll in eBill online by signing into your Dominion Energy account and/or through your bank. eBill is available at over 3,000 participating banks, including the following:

  • Wells Fargo
  • Bank of America
  • Capital One Bank
  • PNC Bank
  • Suntrust
  • USAA
  • Navy Federal Credit Union

Making Changes to Your eBill Account

  • You may cancel your enrollment in eBill anytime. Once stopped, your next bill will be sent via U.S. mail. Sign into cancel.
  • To change the email address(es) associated with your eBill account, sign inand update it under your profile or in Notification Preferences.

Not Receiving Your eBill Emails?

Sign in and check your profile to make sure your email address is correct. If it is, then check your spam folder and add our email address to your safe list to prevent it from being blocked. Also, check the settings on your inbox and ensure there is not a limit on the number of emails allowed to your inbox.

Step 1: Sign into your online account or create an online account.

Step 2: Enroll in eBill through your online account and follow the prompts to sign up for eBill Text Alerts.

Already enrolled in eBill? Select Enroll Now next to eBill Text Alerts on the My Account Overview page.

Step 3: Once enrolled in eBill Text Alerts, you will receive a confirmation text message. Please reply YES to activate eBill Text Alerts.

What types of text messages will I receive? Expand

Once you sign up for eBill Text Alerts, you will receive text messages when your bill is ready to view online and three days before it’s due.

Please note, if you are enrolled in our text alerts for storms, outages, or energy usage reports, your text message frequency will vary.

Are there any fees? Expand

There is no additional charge for eBill Text Alerts; however, your mobile phone provider may bill you for text messages and data rates depending on your mobile phone plan. We are not responsible for these charges.

Can I pay my bill by text message? Expand

To pay your bill, visit the link in the text message to sign in to your online account.

Can my spouse or roommate receive text alerts? Expand

Yes, your spouse or roommate's mobile phone number can be added to your Notification Preferences.

I have multiple accounts. Can I receive eBill Text Alerts for more than one account? Expand

Yes, you can individually enroll all of your accounts in eBill Text Alerts through your online account and specify your Notification Preferences for each account.

I have multiple accounts enrolled in eBill Text Alerts. How do I unsubscribe from one account but keep the other accounts enrolled? Expand

You must sign in to your online account, select the account you wish to update, and un-enroll from eBill Text Alerts on the My Account Overview page.

Please note, if you reply STOP through your mobile phone, you will be unsubscribed from eBill Text Alerts for all accounts associated with that phone number.

What if I change my phone number? Expand

Go to the Notification Preferences page in your online account and replace your old phone number with your new phone number. We'll send an activation text message to your new number.

How do I stop eBill Text Alerts? Expand

You can unsubscribe by updating your program preferences on the My Account Overview page in your online account, or by texting STOP. If you unsubscribe from eBill Text Alerts, you will still be enrolled in paperless billing and will continue to receive email notifications when your bill is ready to view online and three days before it's due.

What happens if I opt-out of paperless billing? Expand

If you un-enroll in eBill, you will also stop eBill Text Alerts. You will no longer receive email notifications or text messages when your bill is ready to view online.
