For Michigan recreational / adult-use dispensaries, anyone 21 years or older with a valid government ID can purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana. Medical marijuana dispensaries, however, require a person to only be 18 years old but they must have a valid medical marijuana card.

Can you go to more than one dispensary a day? Michigan does not limit the number of recreational dispensaries you can buy from in a day. You are free to buy from multiple dispensaries in any given day.

Michigan's dispensaries keep track of your purchases as a customer by using your ID or medical marijuana card. This information is only tracked to ensure purchase limits are followed according to Michigan cannabis laws.

Retail establishments must ask for a photo ID to prove the ages of their customers. Though not required, many retail establishments are scanning IDs.
